As the holidays approach, many of us are reminded of the importance of keeping our weight down. The holidays are jammed with opportunities to eat too much, drink too much, and exercise too little.
So what can we do? Here are a few tips:
Scale – If you don’t have one already, get a good bathroom scale. There is a right way and a wrong way to use it, and we previously provided some tips on how to properly use your bathroom scale. But don’t wait until Christmas or another gift-giving day! Get it now and start using it.
Exercise Equipment – You don’t need expensive exercise equipment or gym memberships to lose weight. A pair of dumb bells, an exercise ball, and instruction are frequently all that is needed. The key is to start and to get into the habit of exercising. Monitoring your weight loss can be a great way to motivate yourself. If you want a cheap cardio exercise, try jumping rope!
Pinterest – Pinterest? Yes, Pinterest! There are many boards on Pinterest that are dedicated to fitness instruction, weight loss, and nutrition. Start with our Board, and you can explore from there. Just try to stay away from the chocolate chip cookie recipes!
Pain Relief – Many folks tell us that they don’t like to exercise because they don’t like the pain and soreness afterwards. Our advice is to start slowly, and progress from there. Also, use topical pain relievers
instead of popping pain pills. They’re much safer.
So, there you have it. Three ideas that are cheap, easy to implement, and that can get you the results you’re looking for this holiday season.
